Congratulations to the following students who were admitted into Culver-Stockton College's incoming class for the fall 2020 semester and received academic scholarships.

Eleven Culver-Stockton College students were inducted May 7 into the Missouri Beta chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. The ceremony was held via Zoom, an online video conferencing app, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Faculty co-sponsors Dr. Scott Giltner, professor of history and chair of the Applied Liberal Arts and Sciences Division, and Dr. Alissa Burger, assistant professor of English and director of retention, welcomed the new members into the society. Giltner delivered this year's charge to the inductees, family and friends.

Jordan Billingsley, a sophomore elementary education major from St. Louis, was named the Resident Assistant of the Year and Jenna Lord, a senior healthcare management major from Lee's Summit, Mo., was inducted into the C-SC Resident Assistant Hall of Fame during a virtual presentation recently organized by the Office of Student Life at Culver-Stockton College.

Several students were recognized by the President's office, the Office of Student Life, the Athletic Department and the College Honors Scholar Program during the annual Honors Day Convocation, shown live online on May 12, 2020 from the Alexander Campbell Auditorium at Culver-Stockton College. Students were recognized for overall academic achievement, outstanding performance within their major, academic competition and campus leadership. Many of the awards have been established by or in memory of Culver-Stockton alumni.

Several students were recognized by the Division of Business, Education and Law during the annual Honors Day Convocation, shown live online on May 12, 2020 from the Alexander Campbell Auditorium at Culver-Stockton College. Students were recognized for overall academic achievement, outstanding performance within their major, academic competition and campus leadership. Many of the awards have been established by or in memory of Culver-Stockton alumni. Areas of study in the division are accountancy, business, business leadership, criminal justice, cybersecurity, finance, forensic accounting, health, legal studies, marketing, sociology and sport management.

Several students were recognized by the Division of Applied Liberal Arts and Sciences during the annual Honors Day Convocation, shown live online on May 12, 2020 from the Alexander Campbell Auditorium at Culver-Stockton College. Students were recognized for overall academic achievement, outstanding performance within their major, academic competition and campus leadership. Many of the awards have been established by or in memory of Culver-Stockton alumni. Areas of study in the division are biology, chemistry, child advocacy studies, forensic science, history, international studies, mathematics, physical science, political science, psychology, religion and philosophy and Spanish.

Several students were recognized by the Division of Fine, Applied and Literary Arts during the annual Honors Day Convocation, shown live online on May 12, 2020 from the Alexander Campbell Auditorium at Culver-Stockton College. Students were recognized for overall academic achievement, outstanding performance within their major, academic competition and campus leadership. Many of the awards have been established by or in memory of Culver-Stockton alumni. Areas of study in the division are art, digital media, arts management, creative writing, English, media communication, music, music technology, musical theatre, public relations and theatre.

Awards for the Greek Life Student of the Year and the Greek Lifetime Achievement Award for both men and women were given during a virtual presentation recently organized by the Office of Student Life at Culver-Stockton College. The Greek Woman of the Year was Taryn Hutcherson (Sigma Sigma Sigma), a junior elementary education and early childhood major from Moline, Ill. The Greek Man of the Year was Michael Simon (Alpha Phi Alpha), a senior criminal justice major from St. Louis. The Greek Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Natalie Dodd (Chi Omega), a senior psychology and occupational therapy major from Palmyra, Mo., and Nick Luciani (Lambda Chi Alpha), a senior sports communication major from Georgetown, Ontario in Canada.

Multiple students were recognized by the Office of Multicultural Development during a virtual presentation recently organized by the Office of Student Life at Culver-Stockton College.

Kenna Armstrong, a junior history education major from Oquawka, Ill., was named the Emerging Leader of the Year, and Kailee Gaither, a senior accountancy and finance major from Canton, Mo., was named the Richard D. Valentine Student Leader of the Year during a virtual honors assembly coordinated by the Office of Student Life.

Cheyenne Grissom, a senior psychology and criminal justice major from Frankford, Ind., recently was elected president of the Student Government Association at Culver-Stockton College for the 2020-21 academic year.

An eclectic group of six pre-teens vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime as the Culver-Stockton College theatre department will be presenting "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at three regional high schools in March and in the Mabee Little Theatre in the Robert W. Brown Performance Arts Center on the C-SC campus in April.

Culver-Stockton College track and field standout Alan Leyva has been named the Primo's Pizza and Subs Student Athlete of the Month for January.

Culver-Stockton College sprinter Tyrin Holder has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Dutch Athletic Classic Jan. 18 in Pella, Iowa.

Culver-Stockton College guard Carly Harper has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance in victories over two nationally-ranked teams last week.

Culver-Stockton College will be presenting "The Vagina Monologues" in the Mabee Little Theater in the lower level of the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center in February. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13, 14 and 15, with a 3 p.m. matinee set for Feb. 16.

Six Culver-Stockton College students were selected to the All-Collegiate Band that performed during the final night of ceremonies at the Missouri Music Education Association Workshop/Conference at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo.
