2016 Dec 22

Trevor Conoyer, senior from Palmyra R-I High School in Palmyra, MO, has competed in the first round of Culver-Stockton College's 33rd Annual Pillars for Excellence scholarship competition. Every year, Culver-Stockton selects up to eight winners for this full-tuition award. The scholarship is valued at $102,000, awarded equally over a four-year period.

To compete to be a Pillars for Excellence scholar, a student must have at least a 26 ACT or 1170 SAT score and have a 3.75 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale or rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. Competitors must also come to campus and complete two interviews with faculty and staff and submit an essay on a given writing prompt.

Nearly 35 students competed in the first round for this full-tuition scholarship. The second round of the competition began on December 1 and concludes on January 31, 2017. More information can be found at www.culver.edu/pillars.
