Sterling Blonigen competes for full-tuition scholarship

Sterling Blonigen, senior from Mascoutah High School in Swansea, IL, competed in Culver-Stockton College's 34th Annual Pillars for Excellence scholarship competition. Every year, Culver-Stockton selects up to eight winners for this full-tuition award. The rewarded full scholarship is awarded equally over a four-year period.

To compete to be a Pillars for Excellence scholar, a student must have at least a 26 ACT or 1170 SAT score and have a 3.75 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale or rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. Competitors must also come to campus and complete two interviews with faculty and staff and submit an essay on a given writing prompt, as well as a 60 second video.

Nearly 40 students competed for this full-tuition scholarship. Winners have been announced.
