Sara Dern In Culver-Stockton's Fall Theatre Production, a Diary of Anne Frank

The Culver-Stockton College Division of Fine Arts presents theatre classic, The Diary of Anne Frank, in the Mabee Black Box Theatre, running Nov.1 - 3 at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. Sara Dern, a junior theatre major from Merriam Woods, Mo., will be Mrs. Frank.

Delving deep into the honor and integrity of a human spirit that cannot be compromised even in the face of danger, the play is based on the tragic real-life story of a young Jewish girl and her family living in hiding from evil forces in a war that ultimately exterminates them. The original play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is presented as newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman and is appropriate for classes studying the Holocaust. This show is directed by Dr. Fonzie Geary, visiting professor of theatre at Culver-Stockton.

Hollyann Little, senior musical theatre from Roscoe, Ill, is playing Anne Frank; Morgan Hakenewerth, sophomore psychology and occupational therapy major from Wentzville, Mo., is playing Margot; Sara Dern, junior theatre major from Merriam Woods, Mo., is playing Mrs. Frank; Kathryn Hodge, freshman music major from Imperial, Mo., is playing Mrs. Van Daan; Kayla Vanderbilt, senior psychology major from Lemont, Ill, is playing Miep; Tim Maples, senior music major from Chicago, Ill., is playing Mr. Frank; Daniel Kelley, freshman theatre major from Lathrop, Mo., is playing Mr. Van Daan; Ryan DeGraw, senior speech and English education major from Incline Village, Nev., is playing Kraler; Ian Hoffman, freshman political science major from Mundelein, Ill., is playing Dussel; Alex Cole, sophomore speech and theatre education major from Union, Mo., is playing Peter; Dakota Hagar, freshman musical education major from Edina, Mo., is playing a Nazi; Benjamin D.Z. Brown, sophomore English and theatre major from Lincoln, Neb., is playing a Nazi; and Dylan Gauldin, junior pre-law major from O'Fallon, Mo., is playing a Nazi. Behind the scenes, Brandon Mundschenk, junior theatre major from Deer Park, Ill, is the stage manager; Emily Porter, freshmen speech and theatre education major from Union, Mo., is an assistant stage manager; and Victoria Tolivar, sophomore musical theatre major from Hannibal, Mo., is an assistant stage manager.

Area high school English and history classes who would like special seating and anyone requesting box office reservations should contact the C-SC Fine Arts office at 573-288-6346. Although admission is free, seating is limited; reservations are requested. The Diary of Anne Frank is presented as part of Culver-Stockton College's Academic and Cultural Affairs Program.
