Ryinne Jacquemin Receives Scholarship to Attend National Athletic Training Conference

2016 Dec 15

Ryinne Jacquemin, a junior athletic training major at Culver-Stockton College received an honorable award in athletic training. Jacquemin, from O'Fallon, MO, was awarded a five hundred dollar scholarship after her application and essay were "chosen from among numerous applicants in every athletic training education program in Missouri," said Steve Nickle (Chair of the College/University Athletic Training Student Committee). The scholarship came from the Missouri Athletic Training Association (MoATA) to attend the National Athletic Trainers Association's (NATA) iLead Conference in Grapevine, Tex. in February of 2017.

Jacquemin explains, "I was motivated by the chance to learn more about leadership in the career of athletic training. My essay was about my future in athletic training as far as working in a youth setting, as well as the National Athletic Training Association's Code of Ethics and how I plan to live those out principles as an Athletic Trainer." Jacquemin believes the knowledge she gains from this experience will help her achieve her goals in the future. "After graduation I would love to pursue an administrative position at the physical therapy clinic near my home and outreach as an athletic trainer."

The Athletic Training department is proud of the hard work that Jacquemin has put in to her passion of athletic training. "This is a wonderful opportunity for Ryinne to grow and network as a student, as well as a future athletic training profession. We're very proud of her and this accomplishment. Ryinne serves as another example of the fine students we have in this program," comments Dr. Jay Hoffman, Associate Professor, Department Chair of Athletic Training & Health Sciences Program and Athletic Training Program Director.
