2013 Nov 22

The Culver-Stockton College women's volleyball team placed four players on the 2013 Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) All-Conference team, the league announced Tuesday morning.

Sophomore Kamrin Gold earned Attacker of the Year accolades as well as first team honors in her first season as a Wildcat. Senior Jacklyn Strouse was named to the second team, while senior Ruthie Wheelock and sophomore Abbie Foster were honorable mention selections.

Wheelock, a 6-foot-3 middle hitter from Lovington, Ill. (Lovington HS), recorded 228 kills, which was good for 24th in the HAAC, and garnered a hitting percentage of 24 percent. She was also second on the team and seventh in the HAAC with 91 blocks. Wheelock earned second team honors in 2012.

The Wildcats finished the 2013 season with a 22-11 overall record, the most victories in a season since earning 26 wins during the 2004 campaign.
