Paisley Goembel Inducted to C-SC Honor Society

2012 Apr 2

Paisley Goembel, freshman elementary education major from Canton, Mo., was recently inducted into Culver-Stockton College's chapter of Phi Eta Sigma. The honor society welcomed 40 new freshmen members during an induction ceremony held in March.

Inductees must be first-year students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the close of any full-time curricular period during their first year.

Phi Eta Sigma is a national college scholastic honor society for freshmen. A member of the Association of College Honor Societies, it was founded at the University of Illinois on March 23, 1923. Its goal is to encourage and reward high scholastic attainment among freshmen in institutions of higher learning.

There are over 300 chapters throughout the United States and some 700,000 members. National conventions are held every two years with student delegates from each chapter attending at the national expense.
