Logan Holmer Named Student-Athlete of the Month for February

Culver-Stockton College junior Logan Holmer has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for February.

Holmer, a 6-foot-1 high jumper from Chillicothe, Mo. (Tiny-Avalon HS), is in the middle of his third season with the men's track and field team. During the indoor portion of the Wildcat schedule, Holmer participated in five events, capturing first place in the high jump on three occasions and finishing second the other two times.

Holmer set a school record and a provisional qualifying standard at the Illinois College Snowbird Invitational on Jan. 25 when he cleared 6 feet, 7 1/2 inches to win the event. Holmer will participate in the NAIA Indoor Championships March 6-8 in Geneva, Ohio.

Holmer also won the high jump at the Prairie Fire Invitational at Knox College on Jan 18 with a jump of 6 feet, 3 1/2 inches, and the Principia Relays on Jan. 31 with a leap of 6 feet, 4 3/4 inches. He placed second at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Championships with a jump of 6 feet, 5 1/4 inches on Feb. 22.

Off the court, Holmer is pursuing a degree in math education. In five semesters at Culver-Stockton, he has been named to the Dean's List two semesters and the Honor Roll two semesters.
