Lane Shannon was Inducted into Chapter of Kappa Pi International Art Honor Society

2016 Nov 25

Culver-Stockton College Art students were honored with the opportunity of being inducted into the Kappa Pi International Art Honor Society. Kappa Pi has been in existence for over 100 years and has offered thousands of art students and professionals a plethora of opportunity which success, talent, creativity, and scholarship can be covered. In hundreds of chapters around the United States and abroad, students and professionals with a similar passion for visual art are today enjoying the excursions, lectures, exhibitions and companionship that comes from being part of a group of like-minded individuals.

Lane Shannon, from Maywood, was among the inductees. Gary Meacher, Assistant Professor of Art & Design and Department Chair of Art and Debra Scoggins-Meyers, Senior Lecturer in Art advise the C-SC chapter. "Creativity is one of the most important skills to acquire. You can be taught a school subject but you cannot learn to be imaginative. Kappa Pi Art Honor Society helps aspiring students to show passion in different creative fields and allows us to open up and share our artistic side with those around us," comments Cheyenne Blackbory '18, C-SC chapter president.
