Lance Smith inducted into Culver-Stockton's honor society for first-year students

Lance Smith, freshman legal studies major from Cameron, N.C., was among nearly 70 students who were inducted into Culver-Stockton's chapter of Phi Eta Sigma during a ceremony held on campus, Wednesday, March 1.

Phi Eta Sigma is the nation's oldest and largest honor society for first-year college and university students. More than one million members have been inducted into the 377 chapters across the country. To become a member, students must earn at least a 3.5 GPA while enrolled fulltime and rank in the upper 20 percent of their class. Members are eligible for hundreds of thousands of dollars of scholarships every year.

Faculty advisors for this organization are Dr. Chad DeWaard, professor of political science, and Dr. Travis Peters, professor of mathematics.
