Kathy Holstein Cast in Culver-Stockton College's Guest Artist Production

2013 Apr 1

Kathy Holstein, senior arts management major from Branson, Mo. has been cast in Culver-Stockton College's 27th Annual Guest Artist Production. Holstein will work with professional actress Mercy Malick in "Wonder of the World," written by David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by C-SC's professor of theatre, Dr. Haidee Heaton. The performance will run April 11-13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mabee Little Theatre, with a Sunday afternoon matinee at 3 p.m., April 14.

"Wonder of the World" is a comedy involving a newly married woman who thinks she has discovered something drastic about her new husband. The play is set in the "honeymoon capital of the world," Niagra Falls, and is filled with kooky characters and unusual situations. This production contains adult situations and strong language. Parental discretion is advised. Holstein has been cast as Barbara, Watiress #1 & #3 and Janie.

Malick has had a long career in television, cinema and theatre. She has appeared in popular television shows like "Chuck" and "Dexter," and has appeared in several films.

The annual guest artist production is an opportunity for students and faculty to experience theatre with professional actors. Students are able to work with the actor onstage, behind the scenes and in workshops and masterclasses. They also have the opportunity to learn new techniques in the field and share firsthand experiences of working in the profession on a day-to day basis.

Culver-Stockton is going on its third decade of Guest Artist Productions. Previous guest artists include Robert Canstanzo of the film "Mafiosa" and Michael Brainard of televison's "All My Children."
