James Heisse Named Heart Setter of the Week

Culver-Stockton College senior James Heisse has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Setter of the Week for the week ending Jan. 21.

Heisse, a setter from Florissant, MO (DeSmet HS) 63031, registered 74 assists in seven sets played last week, an average of 10.5 assists per set. He totaled 43 set assists in the Wildcats' four-set victory over preseason No. 4 Lourdes (Ohio); and garnered 31 set assists in a sweep of Lawrence Tech (Mich.).

In addition, Heisse did not commit an error on 32 service attempts and recorded two service aces during the week. He also led the Wildcats with 12 digs, averaging 1.71 digs per set, and was second on the team with five block assists during the week.

The Wildcats (2-1) are slated to host second-ranked Grand View University (Iowa) in their home and conference opener Tuesday night, Jan. 23. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Charles Field House.
