Dylan Gauldin cast in Culver-Stockton's "Assassins"

2012 Mar 16

Dylan Gauldin, a sophomore criminal justice, pre-law major from O'Fallon, Mo. has been cast in Culver-Stockton College's production of "Assasins."

This bold, original, surreal, disturbing, thought-provoking and alarmingly funny production is perhaps the most controversial musical ever written and is rated R for language and adult content. This most American of musicals lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States, in a one-act historical "revusical" that explores the dark side of the American experience. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman bend the rules of time and space, taking us on a nightmarish rollercoaster ride in which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical periods meet, interact and in an intense final scene inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream.

The production will open March 29 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. Additional performances will be held March 30-31 at 7:30 p.m. and April 1 at 3 p.m. All performances will be held in Mabee Little Theatre inside the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center on the campus of Culver-Stockton College. Tickets are $6 for adults. Admission is free with Culver-Stockton College identification.
