Desmond Phillips Named to All-HAAC Football Team

Twelve members of the Culver-Stockton College football team have earned spots on the 2013 Heart of America Athletic Conference all-conference team that was released by the league office Monday afternoon.

A quartet of Wildcat standouts earned third team all-HAAC honors, including sophomore running back Desmond Phillips (Macon, Ga. / Central HS). Phillips posted a team-high 738 yards and eight touchdowns rushing for the Wildcats this season. He averaged 4.4 yards per carry and 67.1 yards per game. He topped the 100-yard plateau in three games this season, gaining 135 yards on 12 carries against Sterling (Kan.) and 132 yards twice, against Central Methodist (Mo.) and Evangel (Mo.). He also scored two touchdowns in each of those games. In addition, Phillips recorded four receptions for 19 yards.
