Darby Brundage Named to All Heart Softball Team

Culver-Stockton College infielder Darby Brundage has been named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference all-conference team as an honorable mention selection, the league announced Friday.

Brundage, a freshman from Jefferson City, MO 65109 (Jefferson City HS) played both second base and third base this season for the Wildcats. She started 47 of the 49 games played by the Wildcats this season, batting .331 with 12 doubles, two home runs and 20 runs batted in. Brundage, who scored 27 runs, recorded 14 multiple hit games and three multiple RBI games while also leading the Wildcats with 14 sacrifices.

In league play, Brundage batted a lofty .353, collecting 24 hits in 22 league games, with six doubles and two home runs.

Culver-Stockton concluded the 2016 campaign with a 32-17 overall record and finished in a tie for third place in the Heart with a 15-7 league mark.
