Ashlyn May Named Missouri National Guard Student-Athlete of the Month

Culver-Stockton College sophomore Ashlyn May has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for March.

May, a track and field athlete from Camp Point, Ill. (Liberty HS), is a two-year letterwinner on the women's track and field team who competes in several events during the indoor and outdoor seasons. May has recorded several school records in her two short years on the Hill. She holds indoor records in the 55-meter and 60-meter hurdles, and the pentathlon, while holding outdoor records in the 100-meter hurdles and the heptathlon. May is also a member of several relay teams and throws the javelin.

Off the track, May is pursuing a double major in psychology and health and rehabilitation sciences. She is a Pillars Scholarship and Altrusa Scholarship recipient and has been named to the Dean's List three times. In addition, May has been inducted to the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honors Society and the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology.

Among Mays' other activities, she serves as President of Health Outreach by Peer Educators (HOPE) and Vice-President of Food for Thought. She is currently the community service coordinator for Sigma Sigma Sigma and the past education director of Sigma Sigma Sigma as well as Vice-President of Administrative Affairs for Panhellenic Council. In addition, May is in her sixth year of service to the Special Olympics.
