Anna Martin Graduates During Culver-Stockton College Commencement

Culver-Stockton College proudly presented diplomas to 122 graduates Saturday, May 18, during the 157th Annual Commencement exercises. Hundreds of family, friends, faculty and staff attended the ceremony, which was held outdoors on the campus of Culver-Stockton College, between Henderson Hall and Johnson Hall. Anna Martin, of Palmyra, Mo., graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in history education.

Dr. Lee Hammer, outgoing professor of English, was the keynote speaker.In his address, "The Great Cocktail Party of Life," Hammer offered graduates insight into building a successful future.

Josh McGhee of Tinley Park, Ill., and Meghan Townley of Quincy, Ill., were the student speakers during the ceremony. There were also two honorary doctorates conferred during the ceremony, one to Ronald Leftwich of Houston, Texas, and one to Larry Gorrell of Quincy, Ill. Leftwich and Gorrell are both longtime members of the Culver-Stockton board of trustees.
