Alejandro Mentasti Named C-SC's Male Athlete of the Year

2017 May 31

Culver-Stockton College recently held its annual All-Sports Award Banquet as over 500 student-athletes, administrators, coaches and friends filled the C-SC dining hall inside the Crown Center to celebrate the academic and athletic achievements of the Wildcat Athletic Department during the 2016-17 school year.

The Male Athlete of the Year award was given to senior men's soccer player Alejandro Mentasti (CABA, Argentina / ISEF).

Mentasti tied a school record with 14 goals this season, matching the output of C.B. Kuzlik in 1994 and Luke Schneider in 1999. He also added two assists for a total of 28 points. The 14 goals and 28 points ranked third in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

Mentasti, who registered 66 total shots, including 37 on goal, was named to the all-conference first team and the all-region second team. He netted three game-winning goals during the season.
