Abbie Foster Named October's Student-Athlete of the Month

Culver-Stockton College junior libero Abbie Foster has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for October.

Foster, an accounting and finance major from Quincy, IL. (Quincy HS), has played in 363 career sets (100 matches) for the Wildcats over the last three seasons. In her career, she has recorded 1,588 career digs, which ranks 10th on the school's all-time list, and has averaged 4.37 digs per set, which is currently ranked third on the school's all-time list. Foster has been named to the Heart of America Athletic Conference All-Conference team as an honorable mention selection in each of her three seasons at Culver-Stockton. She has also be recognized as the HAAC's Libero of the Week three times in her career, including twice during the 2014 campaign.

This season, Foster appeared in all 32 matches (116 sets) for the Wildcats, garnering a team-high 523 digs, which ranked eighth in the HAAC, and 4.51 per set, which ranked seventh in the HAAC. She also accumulated 28 service aces and had a passing percentage of 94 percent, committing 37 errors on 612 attempts.

Off the court, Foster is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma freshman honor society, the Sigma Beta Delta business honor society and the Alpha Chi honor society, which is an honor society for juniors or seniors in the top 10 percent of their class. She is president of C-SC's student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and is a tutor in the business division. She has been named to the President's List three times and the Honor Roll one time.
